Name or Number? How to Solve Your Wedding Table Problems
Here are some great tips for you on adding beauty and creativity to your wedding tables.
You may not have given much thought to the minor detail of your table numbers because, well, table numbers are boring right? Wrong!
Getting the not so minor detail of your place setting right is an opportunity to add excitement and beauty to each wedding table. With a bit of imagination, it can be something exciting for your wedding guests to talk about.
It's a tradition that guests identify their wedding table by a number, there is nothing wrong with this option. With a bit of creativity, you can add elegance and beauty to the table.

My favourite table setting is a chalkboard style which fits in perfectly with country-themed weddings, vintage weddings, casual weddings or just about any wedding theme.
The only thing I would say about this choice is that unfortunately there is the possibility it may cause some friction between guests, wondering who has table number 3, when they have table number 14. So to remove any unnecessary perceived hierarchy the preferred option it seems is to come up with table names.
Many wedding couples are coming up with more inventive ways to identify tables such as
favourite place names. This is great if you are well travelled but you may well run out of ideas if you have a lot of tables!
Choosing wedding table names will either tell a story about the bride and groom or fit in with the theme/style of the wedding. If you have a particular theme for your wedding then the table names you come up with might be obvious. Such as vintage style with lots of cute bunting and lanterns. But if you're struggling to come up with name ideas read on!

If it's films you're into, why not name your tables after your favourite movies or your favourite actors and actresses. You could also use film titles or directors, famous quotes etc.
If you're a music lover, like me, think about favourite albums, artists and bands or your favourite lyrics. This is a particularly lovely idea if the music you select for your wedding reflects your table names.
If it's sport you're into, you could draw inspiration from Olympic athletes or favourite football players etc. Or if you're a foodie the possibilities for food and drink are endless! Favourite wine or cocktails or favourite retro sweets to match your wedding favours perhaps. How about favourite cheeses from around the World or favourite chocolate.
colours. Maybe you're a huge dog lover, in which case you can name your tables after popular breeds of dogs.
